Surprise trip to EC

I love this picture of them loving on their cousin.
Mom and I had pretty much done all the shopping we could do at the Country Living fair, so Sunday we packed up and headed out.  Originally we were going to just head back to my house, but soon plans changed.  Mom mentioned going to my sisters....so I looked to see how far or close we were.  My sister lives 4 hours from me, so I was thrilled to see that we were only about 2 hours from her house.

Now the problem was...Abby's family was on a cruise and returning that day.  I told mom that the ship would dock early because it would want to leave with new people that evening.  Sure enough as we were just wrapping up packing my sister calls.  She said we are back!!!  Mom and I planned to surprise them.  Then she and the kids began the pressure....hey your close why not come see us, we haven't seen Miss H in forever, the kids want to see you auntie....and on and on it went.  I kept telling them we needed to finish shopping but would call back around 5 when the event ended.

Mom, Miss H, and I all headed out.  Of course the drive there Miss H did not sleep one single bit...she was a little fussy.  But hey who can blame her she has been traveling all over Austin and the Travis Expo center for the past 2 days!  Also my phone kept going off with text from Abby and my brother in law.  I just kept telling them that we were shopping and we would see later on.  The funny thing is my bil texted litterally 10 minutes before we arrived at their house in EC.  I gave him some bs about mom buying something...and on we went.

When we arrived we snuck in the back yard.  Then I had to do some handy doggy door work...stuck my arm in to unlock the back door.  Man were they SHOCKED when we came busting in!  Everyone was super excited. We loved visiting them.  Our stay was not as long as we would have liked, but they will be here next weekend!  After 2 days in EC we headed back home....thus ending our tour of Texas and putting us back home for some routine in Miss H's world!

They couldn't wait for her to wake up to play with her.

Country Living Fair and Bats too!!

WHEEWWW....it has only taken me a week to get things back to normal over here.  Mom, Miss H, and I took a little road trip to Austin last week!  Mom wanted to go to the Country Living Fair because it was the first time they would be in Texas.  Of course if they are so close we had to go.  Mom, Abby, and I had planned to all go....but at the last minute Abby had to go on vacation with her family.  Thus it was Mom, Miss H, and I.

Miss H was a trooper the whole time.  We had such a blast down there.  If you are not sure what the fair was, well it was basically like the magazine coming to life.  At least that is how Country Living explained it on their website.  We really were not sure what to expect, but we knew it was a must.  Apparently their Ohio fair is AMAZING.  Maybe one day we will venter to that one too.  It is in a small town and basically my understanding is it takes over the whole place.  I can imagine it would be fun, but we were glad to start out closer to home especially since we had Miss H with us.  Mom and I bought the early bird tickets that allowed us to enter at 8:30 instead of 10.  Basically you got to shop with fewer people at that time and man was it nice.  We enjoyed the calmer shopping.  On the first day at 10 it was like black friday shopping in that place...people swarmed and started grabbing things right and left.  It was kind of funny.

Of course mom and I could have bought tons of things....but we didn't have much room thanks to traveling with a 3 month old.  Miss H narrowed our car space down, but we still managed to buy some really neat things.  Don't worry next time we head out we will take a much larger car (hint hint dad).  Not only did they have great vendors but they had some neat dyi demonstrations too.  We got to enjoy some of those, but our favorite was Cash & Cari from HGTV.  She showed a lot of ways to repurpose old items!  If you haven't watched her show you should check it out.    All I can say to sum this up is....I love being a mommy who can travel around with my mommy.  We had such a great time.

Here are the many pictures...but blogger and I were in a bit of a fuss as it wouldn't let me load them in the order I WANTED!  Sorry they are so out of order!
Just showing off a little bit of the first day fun!
Look who was having a blast at the hotel.

This is what we looked like when we MOVED IN!

and this is how it all was STUFFED in the car

Up so early to begin our shopping...can't you see she was still tired

Day 1 of 3 here we come....look Miss H went back to sleep!

This is when the masses (10:00) of people poured in

I thought these were super cute...and I'm sure we could make them

Okay this is funny...they put long horns in the middle of the venue, I guess because it was in TEXAS!

shopping really wears her out

Day 2 we spent time in the 2nd building...here is a view from the top
Okay so while in Austin mom wanted to enjoy an Austin event.  There is a bridge there that has become home to over 1 million mexican bats.  Every night just as the sun sets the bats take flight.  Apparently it is an amazing even to watch as they just cover the sky.  We thought we would go to it our last night there....Only bad thing is we waited till 10:20 pm and THEY NEVER FLEW!!!  Normally they are out by 8ish...not the night we went

I love these 2 pics...Miss H was talking it up..you can see she is good at it.

BB and Miss H waiting on the bats...hoping not to get pooped on.

still waiting...and nothing happened!

Here we are MOVING OUT!

And STUFFING the car even more

Oh heavens

Okay so just like any good mom, I am going to post about Miss H's huge blow out! Ha, well we have already discussed her blow outs at home.  This blow out was probably the first of many on the road ones. After finishing up birthday breakfast with Chris' family Miss H gave us a very huge present.  We heard her enjoying herself in the back seat.  Of to which Chris was laughing....It is pretty impressive the noise such a small little thing can make.

The problem: We were driving home from Dallas...so at least a 40 minute ride!  I can not stand to let her sit in a dirty diaper like that for 40 minutes.  The next problem, she gets fussy when its dirty.  Thus Chris and I made a deal to stop by a certain road if she had not fallen asleep. Thank the lord she was still awake.  Now keep in mind we did not REALIZE what we had on our hands.

We pull over, I go to get Miss H out of the car.  Chris went into the gas station...not thinking I was going to need him.  OH MAN was I wrong.  No more than I had gotten her out of her car seat did I realize what a HUGE BLOWOUT we had on our hands.  Poor sweet baby....she had on 3, THREE, layers and managed to blow right through them all.  She had on her onesie, leggins, and a skirt!

Here is a pic from brunch of what she had on:
Not the best facial expression but you can see the outfit.
She has pink leggings under that skirt!
Thank the lord I had thrown in a not cute burp cloth...not sure why I did that day but man was I happy.  I lay her on the floorboard of the car and begin to try and well clean her up.  Problem is when it is that bad there is not ONE good way of getting that onesie off without poo going all the way up her as you try.  When Chris returned from the store, he found me a little stressed and well some nasty leggings and skirt on the ground outside the car door.  We managed to get the poor baby cleaned up!  However, her car seat was hit too!!

Therefore this mommy....who is does not like to wash poo out of clothes couldn't dare put another outfit on only to be pooed up from the car seat.  Miss H got to ride home in only her diaper!  Hey but she slept like a champ the whole rest of the way home!  Here's our sweet little naked baby!

All of her clothes are nicely wrapped in paper towels in the bag!
I'm a pro at getting out poop if you need help, ha.

Notice how the burp cloth is covering the "damaged" area....what a mess!
