Smash cake session fun!

Okay let me start this by saying I am so in LOVE with these photos.  I wanted to do a smash cake session for Miss H's first birthday, but January isn't the best time of year to take pics outside.  I searched high and low...and started looking in October.  No one in our area really had a studio so I had no other choice than to go with an outside location.  I was bummed and well had to make my self okay with the idea that she wouldn't be in her bloomers covered in cake.

Then we had our next little issue...RSV, hospital stay! Remember that wonderful week of events.  Of course that was the week we were doing her smash cake session! AHH Poor baby looks so sad and sick there was no way I could do that to her or the photographers.  Needless to say that brings me to our WONDERFUL photographers.  Who were kind enough to move H's session back a week or two..even though they are busy moms too.

Sweet LaRae took Miss H's pictures and man are they the best to work with.  I am not kidding they are so great.  What I really love is that they are sisters, have kids, and both take pictures at the same time.  I am certain that is why we got so many wonderful pictures.  Plus they had super cute props for the session.  I can't thank them enough for the wonderful memories they have given me.  Okay so I had to post pretty much all of them! If you live in the area I would really recommend them.  They made my "vision" come out perfect for her session.

 Now time for the CAKE!!!

Bluebonnets

Okay I have been on a mission to find a good spot to take Miss H's bluebonnet pictures.  I have always loved bluebonnets and I love seeing them all over the roadway.  What I don't love is the idea of stopping on the side of the road and getting my sweet bundle out for pictures.  Thus my mission: find bluebonnets in a safe place.   However, a small patch of course will not do.  I mean you need to have enough that they are looking good in the background.

I spoke with some friends and got some great ideas of places to head up.  Yesterday after church: side note here it was Miss H's first time at church. She was a trooper and slept the whole time.  Any how after church I went and checked out a place I was told about.  It was PERFECT!  Safe and beautiful....no just to have the right weather and timing for the pictures.

This morning we woke up and I feed Miss H then threw (not really) her in her car seat.  I rushed us over to the bluebonnet spot.  The rush was all because it was overcast.  You see it was bright enough for the pictures, but not too bright that she would not open her eyes.  I took probably a thousand pictures...to only have like 10 turn out good.  Thank you for digital cameras!  But I am pleased with our impromptu photo session.  Here are the good ones.  We are going to try again later this week, you know me always looking for perfection! HA Ready for picture overload?

I love this half smile!

She was smiling but her eyes were closed, darn it!

Her new thing is to pull on her little skirts!

And talking it up too!

How could I pass up a shot of her new thing...sucking on that silly hand.

This one is my favorite!

love those little toes...

its hard work taking pictures...big yawn!

Let me guide you

through what may be the hardest decision you will make in the next couple of weeks.  What decision is that??  YOUR CHRISTMAS CARD!!  It's simple just one little word....

I love, love, love Shutterfly!!  I have been a Shutterfly user for many years now, but with the wedding this summer I really needed their help.  I know there are many on-line photo spots out there, however, none are as amazing as Shutterfly.  Not only have I up loaded all my wedding pictures to their site, but I have made photo books for both our families.  They also have a great share site where you can share all your photos with others.  We really enjoyed this feature as all of our guest were able to upload the pictures they took on our wedding day.  Thankfully we have over 2000 pictures just from friends and family to enjoy forever!  Okay, okay enough about my wedding lets get down to business.

CHRISTMAS CARDS Picking the perfect Christmas card can be a challenge for some, but with all the options that Shutterfly has to offers you can't go wrong.  I love so many of them it is hard to decided.  I  love that they have both photo cards and folding cards.  Here are a few of my favorite folding cards.

I also love the photo card option and it's simple styles.  If you are like me and have multiple photos you want to share, then the collage card is a must.  However, maybe you only have one amazing photo, well they have a card for that too.  The nice thing is you can search Shutterfly's site based upon the number of pictures you want on your card!  How great is that!!!!

Okay, maybe you are way ahead of me and already have your Christmas cards ordered. First of all BRAVO to you!!!  But can I suggest something super cute to easily personalize you Christmas gifts.   Shutterfly offers amazingly cute personalized GIFT TAGS!!!  I love this idea and it will make gift giving 100 times easier.  Of course there are many different styles to chose from...you can go Christmas or neutral (that way you can use them year round).

I really love the little gingerbread one!  But if I were ordering them, I would probably go with the neutral one.  Nonetheless no matter what you will be celebrating in the next few months shutterfly can offer you a deal.  Head on over and check out all the amazing specials...but you better hurry only 50 days till Christmas!!

*By posting this blog I received 50 free Christmas cards; spread the word you to can receive 50 free Christmas or holiday cards from Shutterfly http://bit.ly/sfly2010

Keeping with Momma M...

Well her past few questions and such have been about marriage. Since we are not married just yet (only 133 more days). Then well as you read in my last few post we had no power for 2 days...So I was more than thrilled to have power last night to get my Momma M post ready!

Today's post is your favorite pictures with your LOVED one! Well hum....FAVORITE is hard to do! I mean I tell my little 6 year olds in class all the time that FAVORITE is just one. However they never seem to have just one! Like them I do not have just one, or just one LOVE!

Here are my first loves: My sweet niece and nephew...they have been around a little longer than Chris. Oh and my sweet niece, we we are very close. You see I graduated from college in December, which is great not as long of a convocation and such. However, finding a job then not so great. Plus my sister had just had this darling little baby girl! I was lucky enough to have a super sister who let me stay home and watch their new precious angel. She still needed to work a few months before "retiring" or becoming a stay at home mommy. Lucky me!!! I got to spend every day and night with my niece and make sure she was safe and sound for my sister and brother-in-law.

My other favorite two pictures are of Chris and I! The first one was taken this summer at a friends wedding. We were having such a blast and it was captured just so! Then of course I really love all of my engagement photos! I mean they are AMAZING! However out of all 100 this one is one of the top 3. Chris' good friend was the photographer and does amazing work. We love him so much we are taking him with us to the Dominican Republic for the wedding pictures. You can see is work here! You can see all the other top engagement pics here.
