Lost....

NO I am not lost, kidnapped, stranded, or any other random place!  Life is just BuSy!!! Wheewww I am finally sitting down for a moment to get my BLOGGIN FIX!!  Why have I been so busy?

Let's see, Chris has done an amazing job at work!  Thus his great performance arrives his great reward!  Well this award was given out this past week in San Diego....so of course I HAD to go!  I mean what kind of wife would I be sending him out there alone (did you read that with sarcasm??) I was excited to be able to sneak away and enjoy this trip with Chris.  I could not be more proud of him.  There were many things I learned on this business trip.  Most of which that I love personally love the perks of his job (aka getting that trip) also the people there were so great.  However, the biggest thing I learned was that Chris' company does an AMAZING job of showing their employes great appreciation for hard work.  Not only do they appreciate the employees but the families that support them through it all.  It was so fun to see all the HAPPY workers...and I don't mean happy because they just headed to San Diego.  Truly it seems everyone who works for his company loves their job so much.  I think the key to a happy work environment is appreciation and enthusiastic workers...of which they have accomplished!

Okay so with 3 days in SD, so what did we do!! WALKED all over the places...we stayed in the Seaport Village area.  This place was great because there were tons of cute shops close by....as well as the Gaslamp district!  We also toured the Midway aircraft carrier, which was fun to see up close.  The rest of the time was spent at work dinners and mingling with others!  Here are some of the pics....such a wonderful place there in SD! Oh and just think....I narrowed these pics down, ha.

 Just acting a little silly....

Weekend Recap

Please ignore my awful sunburn!
WHEEEWWWW!!!  I think this is the first time all weekend I have actually sat down and relaxed!  We had yet another busy weekend on our hands.  For starters I was playing with Claire in a tennis tournament. Thankfully the draw was not too large....allowing me to find a way to leave Saturday night open.  Our first match was on Friday night...but let's not talk about it!  Um, it was not the best tennis either of us have ever played!  Enough said!!

Saturday morning, Chris went a head and finished up our flag stone walkway.  It looks SUPER!!!  I hope it will help sale our house too.  Then we (Winston too) ran to Lowes and picked up some other things.  Of course we had to eat a hotdog while we were there too!  We really love the Lowes hotdog guy, actually we prefer them over Home Depot.  (if you have not tired their hotdogs you should...mmmm...) Next we rushed home and I took off for match number 2.  The good news is that we got on court a bit earlier than scheduled, the bad news is we took forever to play!  Once our match was over I had to RUSH RUSH RUSH home and clean up.

Last night my school had their annual art auction.  For those of you who have no idea what this is....well let me enlighten you!  Basically our sweet art teacher works on projects with each grade level.  They start working on these projects around October besides the normal art class items.   Each grade level has a theme!  My second graders had Andy Worhol (he did many piece with silk screening)  and Charlotte's Web!  The kids made time capsules of items to be opened in 2015.  They placed their items in a screen printed box....it was so cute!

Okay back to the info...so there are a total of 12 "master pieces" that are student created you can bid on.  But also there is a HUGE HUGE HUGE silent auction.  The items in this area vary from food, house decorating, romantic getaways, and teacher parties.  There were a couple of things Chris and I wanted to win!  When you arrive you may begin bidding on the silent auction items.  That continues on through the meal and then ended around 8:30.  Of course you have to keep "stalking" the items you really want!  We bid on a cooking package where a chief came and cooked 5 meals at your house!  Also on a cooking party for up to 20 people.  Chris wanted a golf package.  Also we found something for our sweet little pup!!

Though out the night we got to mingle with all the parents and teachers that were there.  I really enjoyed getting to chat with many of my moms in a more informal setting.  You know I wasn't having to be the "teacher" telling them how good their child is or what they need to work on at home.  Once the silent auction ended the fun really began!  Now it was time for the bigger items...the art!!!

I am completely amazed at how much our parents were willing to spend for their child's class piece.  Now keep in mind all this money is going to improve our school...they want to build a running track around our play ground!  The first few pieces went for 300-400 dollars...then we hit a fourth grade piece!  Man that piece really got things going.....if I remember correctly it went for 2,500 dollars.  I love that our parents want the school to be amazing.  I love that they are willing to help out!  I also love that they enjoyed all the art pieces the kids have worked on....each piece was created with such love!!

The company was wonderful, the event was amazing, we raised tons of money, oh and we won one of the silent auction pieces.  What was it?  Well.....only the best for our pup!  We bid on a 100 dollar gift card to Winston groomer...and won it!  Winston will now get 2 hair cuts for the price of one! ROCK ON!!!
Our goodies for Winston!
Oh yeah and did I mention...Claire and I got 2nd place today after our very LONG match this morning.  That's right folks it was a rough start but we pulled it off in the end.  Enjoy your Sunday!

A welcomed surprise

This very long week has FiNaLlY ended!  Although it ended with many tears. yet happiness it has finally ended.  The trip to and from Kansas was as nice as could be (minus the fact that it was like 27 degrees there with sleet and snow!).  It is times like these that you get to revisit memories you may have forgotten.  Also you get to learn more about each other and the strength they hold.  Now it is time to enjoy the fact that grandma is enjoying her new place of peace and happiness.

On to the happy surprise....if you remember from last week I won a blog giveaway!  Well, my goodies have arrived.  When I got home there was this wonderful box waiting for me!  Christin from A Classy, Southern Wife had sent it to me!

Then when I opened it there was a sweet note from Christin....and my goodies!

Are these not the cutest wine accessories you have ever seen!
I love them...actually I wanted to bust open a bottle of wine just to break them in!

The goodies sure did make my very long week seem brighter.
Thanks Christin for my winnings! LOVE THEM!!!

Super Bowl Madness!

First of all I should let you all know, in case you um live under a rock, that the Super Bowl is here!!  You know where I live! It is big news all over the place!  The ESPN crew has taken over downtown Fort Worth! Okay on with it....

Let me set the scene for you:

Picture oh 3 weeks ago, on a Friday night.  I am of course attending choir practice (aka happy hour) with the group. (at our normal Friday night spot)  We were having a blast!  We were chatting about our weeks and what was up next....as the evening passes various people head home.  Then we are left with oh about 8 of us hang out and enjoying our adult beverages.  Out of no where come the "promo" gals!  You know the kind...way to short of skirt/shorts, the tatas all pushed up for some major cleavage. They were the Coors Light girls!  Of course they were promoting Coors.  Fancy that, but Chris prefers this beer!  They come over and do the small talk about Coors, blah blah blah.  Then everyone at the table gets a complimentary drink.  They place the coster on the table and ramble something about entering for a chance at Super Bowl tickets.

Of course we were well past the phase of small talk with these gals, I mean heck we got the free drink now move along.  Then I randomly decided, FINE I will enter the silly giveaway.  I mean my theory on this is...I have unlimited text so why not!  Here is what you had to do.
text a picture of that funny box with the Coors mountains
Take a picture of that sign on the coaster.  Then text the picture to that random number.  It was a done deal.  I sent the pic, and got some type of conformation text back.  I really left it at that.

F-A-S-T F-O-R-W-A-R-D! Now it is LAST Wednesday, January 26! Here I am teaching away when I keep hearing the vibrating noise of my phone!  (Yes, my phone is always on my teacher table....its the way I check all school emails throughout the day; since my main computer is hooked up to the promethean board) I couldn't figure out why it kept going off.  I mean Chris had left that morning for an out of town trip...was it him? had something happened? I was a little worried.  Needless to say I was 10 minutes from a break.  I took my kiddos to specials and then jumped right on my voicemails.  No it wasn't Chris! Wheew!  But it was a random IL number!  Why?

I called the number back to find out..............I was a winner of the Coors Light Super Bowl sweepstakes!  Are you KiDdInG ME?  I couldn't plan this stuff, really!  Folks, we didn't win the 2 tickets TO the Super Bowl.  However, I won a pair of tickets to the Coors Light Super Bowl Party "Silver Bullet" on Friday, Feb 4th!  Not only that but the party will be at the local Honk'e Tonk down the street!  The lady gave me all the info she knew, which was NoNe!  I gave her may address and away we go.

The tickets arrived on Sunday! I was crazy excited because I needed more info.  I mean I have been wondering all weekend about what will go on there.  Will they have a band?  Will we just go and have drinks?  So many questions!!!  Most of the questions have been answered!  The main performance will be BlAkE ShElToN!  I love him! (Chris not a big country fan, but is excited for the drinks)  I can't wait to go have a blast!  What a fun weekend will be have Super Bowl Parties almost every night!  Can you believe this?

A Bright ending to my weekend!!

Well as I am sure you could tell from my earlier post!  The stomach bug has hit my classroom.  I had tried my best to stay out of it...but it knocked me down for a couple of days.  I didn't feel well most of the week.  However on Saturday I really got the beating!!  Stomach cramping all day long!  I am thankful to have a FP doc in the family that I could call on!  I spend the whole day and all of today in bed.  I am so thankful though!!  CHRIS has been AMAZING!!  He has taken such good care of me, I couldn't have asked for a better hubby.  He "forced" me to drink fluids, not something I was thrilled about.  He went out in the crazy storms to get me crackers, soup, and meds.  Really he is the BEST!   He even ran some school errands for me....and tried to get me to blog!  I just didn't have that in me (you know I am sick for sure then).
On to the bright part....I received an email yesterday that said I was a WINNER!!!  Yes, I won another blog giveaway!  This time I won a gift card for CNS from Miss Arkansas Brides' Blog!!  She hosted this wonderful give away!  I am super excited too...I need to get some really cute picture frames for our wedding pictures.  Thanks Shanna!!  This was a nice ending to my weekend of BLAH...now I need to try and do some school work too!

It’s becoming REAL!

Okay planning the wedding for the girl makes the whole thing REAL; you know the fact that you are getting married.  However, for the guy it takes a little more….Since Chris went to his bachelor party this weekend he has seen the light…you know that he is ALMOST married!

waiting for marriage lcns

Yesterday was the biggest, “THIS IS REAL”, moment though.  We went to the court house and got our marriage license!!!  Chris is so cute, he printed up our form online and we just took it with us to save time.  We had to wait about 15 or so minutes to meet with a clerk.  Once we met with her, we showed our id’s to prove it really is us “getting married”.  Then due to the fact that we did marriage mentoring or state offers a discounted license rate.  Instead of paying 78 dollars we just paid 11 dollars, that ROCKED!!  We both held our right hand up and swore all our info was true and we wanted this marriage…blah blah blah…and at 3;00 pm yesterday we were given our license!  Yippee!!!  As soon as we got home I of course packed  it up so we wont forget it!

In other fun news I WON another BLOG giveaway!!  I am so stinking excited!!!  I won the giveaway from one of my FAVORITE blogs ever POB, Letters from a Pissed Off Bride!   I love this site because different brides can write in and well……….release all that pissed off energy from the horrible things that happened or made them so angry on their wedding day.  Really it is some good reading!  Anyways I won a set of six Go Against The Grain custom note cards and envelopes! I will use them for our Encore Celebration in August! She has some super cute products you should check them out!  Yippee what a super day we have had!!!  First the marriage license and now a blog winner!!  Okay so I must run to do some errands and check of my list….just wanted to share our big news! HA
