Spring break visitors

Wheeww once we got back from our fun trip to A-town we had a few days to rest.  But no rest for long as my cousin Kim and her family were stopping in for a quick mini trip!  Thankfully Oklahoma had spring break the week after Texas, otherwise our zoo trip would have been a bust.  Kim, her hubby Vance, and their son Gregory only had about a day and half for family time over spring break.  Miss H and I are so happy they wanted to come here and visit.

Our big plans…well to go to the zoo of course!  I mean who doesn't love the zoo!! HA, ha  We had a blast it was so fun sharing our zoo with them.  Miss H loves them and still watches a video we took at the zoo where Gregory was chatting to her!  I am pretty sure we will meet up with them again very soon as Miss H ask when we see grrory (her attempt at Gregory) again!!  I love it  Here are some pics from our fun.

Baby Zoey

All of the hostesses and the new mom and dad!!

One of my sweet friends who I taught with is expecting!!  We had a super baby shower for her and her husband a few weeks ago!  That sweet girl stands no chance at being girly with a daddy who loves to hunt.  Her theme was deer figures and purples!  They are doing her room in a woodland decor.  Everyone had a blast and we loved showering them with goodies.  Instead of me blabbing about it just look!

AXA Awards

Chris' company holds an award banquet every year.  They also like to rotate the location through out Texas for all the branches.  This year his banquet was in Houston…the second best location for us.  Of course here in the DFW would have been most ideal, but Houston is great for us too.  Why??  My sister!!! She lives about an hour outside of Houston and didn't mind taking on an extra little one for the weekend.

Miss H was super excited about going to Queen Tia's and Uncle B's.  She loves them so much and it makes my heart happy.  I know when she is playing with her 3 cousins (soon to be 4) she doesn't miss Chris or I one bit!  Of course I wanted to spend time with my sister and crew Miss H and I took off on Wednesday night to see them.  This way I got to spend Thursday and Friday with everyone.  Plus it helps Miss H to get settled in…oh and we too Winston!! Yikes  I don't mind the drive to my sisters with just H, but when you add the dog it is a mess.  He doesn't do cars at all, as in I have to drug him!  Then every time we stop he has to get out blah blah blah…making our drive a little longer than need be.

Come Saturday Miss H could have cared less that I left her!!  She was playing too hard with baby G (he is 7 months younger, its great having a cousin so close in age).  Those two were causing havoc on the world around them.  I took off and met up with Chris at our hotel.  Once we go to the hotel we just kicked back and enjoyed silence…ahh

We did a little walking around the galleria area!  It was nice to just walk, chat, and not have to stop and help Miss H every so often. It was like the good old days!  Minus our trip to Vegas when H was 13 months we haven't been away from her.  That trip was rough too because it was our first time away from her and she had just been so sick…I digress  Chris and I both even snuck in a little mid day nap without a baby to lay down or work around, pure bliss

That evening we got all dolled up and headed down to the banquet room.  Chris' company always does a great job with this event.  There is a cocktail hour with open bar and yummy appetizers which we enjoyed.  Then we go in find our table eat a nice meal.  Once the dinner is over the awards begin.  I love watching everyone get their awards…some you see every year and some are new!

This year has been a wonderful year for Chris.  I can't even begin to tell you how proud I am of him.  He has worked countless hours for himself and our family.  He always sets remarkable goals…and manages to achieve them.  This year was no different he was award an amazing award.  Chris made Centurion which is such a task.  I was so proud to watch him walk up and accept his award!

After the banquet everyone headed out to the hotel bar.  We all just sat mingled and carried on.  Actually Chris and I were very impressed that we stayed up so late.  I think we both planned to head up to bed after the banquet…but then stayed out till 1:30….AHH Party animals!

I told Chris at the beginning of this I just wanted to sleep in if nothing else, and I did just that!  I got to sleep till 8:45 which was amazing.  I know that doesn't seem late to everyone but for me it was good enough.  That extra hour, hour and a half is like heave.  We then enjoy brunch with friends.  After our brunch I had to head back to see Miss H and Chris had another meeting there in Houston.

I am so thankful I have a great sister who took on my sweet baby plus her own three.  Miss H had a blast told me all about it.  Of course they spoiled her rotten, but no biggie I will repay the favor when we watch Baby G in April.  After all Aunties are the best at spoiling…or as Miss H would say Tia and Uncle B are fun!

Welcome to the CRAZY TRAIN!!

The day after I hosted Amy's shower Abby and crew showed up!  My sister and I had this great idea of taking all the kiddos to my parents in A-town!!  Begin laughing now….4 kids 6 hour drive and 1 kid that doesn't feel good! PARTY TIME

We officially named Abby's car the CRAZY TRAIN as you can imagine it was.  Poor E and B had to climb in and out from the very back door because the babies (H and G) took up the middle row!  Every where we went we would unload like a clown car and just laugh about it.  The drive to A-town was good until the last 1.5 hours when my child (the one not feeling good) declared "Out mommy out".  Yes she managed to yell and fussy that for the last 1.5 hours.  I felt so bad for everyone having to listen to her.  I tried all the tricks that normally work, but nothing would do except to get out.  That clearly was out of the question.

Once we arrived A-town everyone was happy to be out!!! Mostly to be away from screaming Miss H, ha.  We all settled in and were happy to be there.  The kiddos played and then off to be for our fun week in A-town.  Monday Miss H was still running a fever so I took her to the clinic…after 4 days of fever I knew something was wrong.  Even though the weekend nurse told me she didn't have a true fever and was probably fine.  Ha well no more than had they looked at her and we were out with meds to help her 1st case of strep throat! Poor sweet baby..and she lost about 3 lbs since her 2 year check.  Back to BB and Papa's for some r&r for my baby girl.  The bigs went to play mini golf with BB.  Abby's kiddos love mini golf and what better way to kick off spring break.

Tuesday we hit up the local donut shop DONUT STOP…our favorite ever!  The kids love to look at them while they make the donuts.  They also love to watch the fountain of icing that they run threw.  We then ran around A-town with mom and dad checking out all the stuff they are doing to the new house.  Mom and Dad have been remodeling my grandparents house for a while now and are finally picking out fun stuff.  After naps we hit up the park!  Oh the joys to just run free and be young!

Wednesday we met up with my bestie Amber at the Discovery center.  We had a blast.  I have to hand it to A-town the Discovery center is way better now than it was when we were kiddos.  We played there for about 2.5 hours.  Baby G couldn't get enough of the conveyor belt.  He loved to roll things on and off of it.  Miss H loved just running around after Edward (Amber's oldest boy).  After our fun we checked off another must do.  We at lunch at Kabuki…it sure was yummy!  Then home for naps because man these babies played hard.

Thursday we had to pack up and head back to our house.  We hit up Rosa's then packed up the kiddos and took off.  Both babies slept for the first 2 hours…may have slept longer but we had to do a bathroom break…remember the clown car :-)   We made it back in time for dinner and bed.  Poor Little Bear wasn't feeling amazing by the time we got home. Abby and the kiddos stayed with us then took off early Friday!

I have to say even with all the craziness of 4 kiddos, sickness, and long drives we had a blast.  I am glad my sister loves to take last minute trips like us.  Also that she let us stowaway with them!  Nothing is more fun than memories like this!! Oh and I am thankful none of the others got strep from Miss H!
