3 Months….

Emily and Chris Wedding (Dominican Republic) 0255

of marriage bliss that is!  Chris and I have officially been married for 3 months.  I can not believe that it has been 3 months since our DREAM WEDDING!  Let’s do a quick run down of the first three months of marriage.

2 weeks in Chris has ankle surgery!!  I become the full time: care giver, dog walker, driver, yard worker, cooker, cleaner, and well everything!

At the end of the first month, we got to have our ENCORE CELEBRATION.  We had a blast even if Chris was still on crutches.  I am so glad that everyone got to come out and party with us.  Do I need to remind you how amazing the photo booth was too??

Towards the end of our second married month I had to head back to work.  Although I normally am not 100% overjoyed about this, I was this year.  I began work at a new school and LoVe, lOvE, LoVe it to say the least.  Chris finally got permission to drive again, but now had a very nice walking boot on.  We took our annual trip to Scottsdale.

Now here we are on our third month of marriage.  Chris is able to walk with no boot finally. (Do you hear the angels singing? I do)  He enjoys the yard work again (AHHHH AHHH AHHH) We are almost back to a normal routine too.

Wow, we have accomplished so much these first three months.   We have had many laughs along the way and well a few crazy moments too.  I love being married more than anything.  It is so amazing knowing you are going home to someone who loves you, makes you crazy, and cares about the silly things like you.  Now on to the next month and all the memories it will bring.

Happy 87th Birthday

IMG_0133

This weekend I was lucky enough to head on home to A-town.  Not only was I excited to see grandma, since it had been a while.  I was super jazzed that I also got to help celebrate her birthday with her.

On Saturday, grandma was in a great mood.  She actually was speaking very clearly and a lot.  Lately she has gone down in health.  She is no longer talking as well, or wanting to.  Abby and mom put her on hospice about a week ago.  I know how hard that is as I helped with grandpa.  Another reason I really wanted to head down to see grandma.  We visited with her twice on Saturday, and for some time.  She was looking so great.  I think she even remembered who I was both times.  She did get excited when I talked about the wedding….she like my grandpa wanted me married badly.

On Sunday mom and I did some shopping and bought her a few things.  You know since she has Alzheimer’s she really wont remember it (or even me), but you still want to make it a production.  (I mean come one we have birthday WEEK in our house) We bought her a new outfit that seemed comfy to hang around all day in.  Then we picked up a nice soft cheesecake that she could probably eat.  Headed up and had our selves a little party.  Okay so she was not in the “best” of moods, but she still enjoyed it I think.  Mom and I also hung us some wedding pictures.  I had a few made to place on her cute bulletin board mom put in her room.  All in all even in the “not so best mood” I think grandma really enjoyed her birthday.  I know mom and I enjoyed celebrating it with her.  Here are a few pics from my visit.

Mail issues…

to say the least.  Okay I need to set the scene! We have a house where the mailbox is attached to our wall by the front door.  We don’t have a mailperson that drives up and and drops off our mail!  Instead “he” walks the route everyday.  (yes I am talking about MAIL--you know that you place a stamp on!)

Okay so picture you typical HOT STIFLING HOT 100 plus degree summer days.  If you have a mailperson that walks the route then you can imagine how they may feel.  Suddenly our mail started arriving, um…..WET!!  Yes you heard me correctly WET WET WET (like you dropped it in a puddle).  Therefore after a few weeks I had to make a call.  I found out some rather troubling news.  The mailman claims that the reason our mail is wet is well, SWEAT!  That is correct he is sweating on our mail the hole route.  He claims, since we are the last house on the 3 blocks…our mail sits on his arm from start to finish.  Thus no matter what he has tried he can’t keep it dry! (REALLLY!!)

yes this is the magazine we received just last week  DSC_0034-1

REALLY!!! I don’t think Chris has even opened it yet…we are still letting these DRY OUT! HaDSC_0028-1

Completely disgusted by this news, Chris and I no longer can touch our mail the same. We now set all mail to the side, spread it out, and let it DRY OUT.

FAST FORWARD…..Now September, not 100 plus days and still our mail is arriving SOAKING WET??  I mean when we receive a bill, the envelope to return our payment in is already sealed due to his SWEAT! (I only wish I could make this stuff up)

This week though we had a small break through….we have a SUBSTITUE mailperson.  You will be pleased to know that all week our mail has arrived DRY DRY DRY!  Funny how this “sub” mailperson is able to not sweat on the mail.  Chris went ahead and made a phone call today.  He told them that he finds it interesting that our “sub” can bring us dry mail and yet our “regular” mailperson can not.

I know I am asking a ridicules question here but really there is no way to keep our mail dry, or in your BAG, until you get to our house!! REALLY!!

Scottsdale 2010

DSC_0953

As you all know from my last post, we head out to Scottsdale over Labor day each year.  We as in Chris, Steve (Chris’ dad), Z (Chris’ best friend, and our best man) oh and of course me!!!  Well this was a nice little golf trip that they guys would do, but thankfully 3 years ago I got an invitation.  HA….little did I know I would LOVE the trip as much as the guys.  I mean really I get to spend a nice couple of days by the pool and catching up on my trashy magazines that have stacked up.

However, after last years AMAZING surprise on our trip I now LoVe, lOvE, LoVe Scottsdale more.  This year was just as wonderful.  The guys got to enjoy a few new golf courses.  I of course got to enjoy some major R&R that was much long over due.  On our engagement anniversary, Sept 5, we had some AMAZING massages.  I love that we do this together.  As always we all left sad to go…but know next year we will meet again.

Here are some pictures from our weekend!  I tried to narrow it down…but you know how that is. Ha
