A welcomed surprise

This very long week has FiNaLlY ended!  Although it ended with many tears. yet happiness it has finally ended.  The trip to and from Kansas was as nice as could be (minus the fact that it was like 27 degrees there with sleet and snow!).  It is times like these that you get to revisit memories you may have forgotten.  Also you get to learn more about each other and the strength they hold.  Now it is time to enjoy the fact that grandma is enjoying her new place of peace and happiness.

On to the happy surprise....if you remember from last week I won a blog giveaway!  Well, my goodies have arrived.  When I got home there was this wonderful box waiting for me!  Christin from A Classy, Southern Wife had sent it to me!

Then when I opened it there was a sweet note from Christin....and my goodies!

Are these not the cutest wine accessories you have ever seen!
I love them...actually I wanted to bust open a bottle of wine just to break them in!

The goodies sure did make my very long week seem brighter.
Thanks Christin for my winnings! LOVE THEM!!!

Heaven is a little sweeter

This morning at 8:00 am heaven got a little sweeter.  My dear sweet grandma walked into the pearly gates.  I am certain she was greeted by grandpa, as well as others dear to her heart.  These past few days have been a struggle for us all.  I know grandma held on so that we could all say our good byes.  I am just so grateful that I got to spend the past few days loving on her!  She too did the same to me...maybe not with words but with her peacefulness.

We are off to Kansas on for her funeral.  I know that will be hard to, but I think the hardest part has passed.  Telling grandma it was okay to step up to heaven. Thank you to all who have been thinking about me and my family.  Your thoughts have been a true blessing!

Sad but thankful

Today I left Amarillo with much sadness.  In order to have my classroom prepared for the next step in grandma's journey I had to leave her today.  I am so thankful I got to spend the last 3 days with her.  Although she was not always looking at me or talking to me, she was listening.  I hate that the final days have to be so long and worrisome.  We worry that she may be in pain and we wont know.  However, everyone assures us that she is not...you still worry.

I am also thankful that my sister is able to stay with grandma and mom.  No, it is not the same as being there yourself but at least I know she is in great hands with them by her side.  Now I just pray that grandma relaxes enough to move on.  Abby told me this afternoon she seemed to be close.  Thank you to all my friends and family who have said many prayers for us.  We are so grateful to you.

Love...oh sweet love

This week has been all about love for people around the world.  Well, as you remember I am not one for participating in the "love" that is requested on the specific day (Valentine's day).  However, I was brought to Amarillo this week! My dear sweet grandmother has taken a turn down the path to heaven.  You know we were just in this place a year ago with my grandpa.  Grandma had a stroke about 4 weeks ago.  She seems to have taken a step closer to being with grandpa.  My sister's family and I made the trek to Amarillo on Thursday.  We wanted to spend time with grandma and show her our love.  Since we both live so far away...any chance to come home we take.
This was grandma and I back in September 2010...her birthday weekend!
The time here has been nice in the fact that we (mom, Abby's family, and I) have just sat and relived all the  wonderful memories.  Grandma has gotten to listen to the great-grand babies play by her side, us laugh about the funny things we have done with her and grandpa, and so much more! Although this is a very sad depressing time, it is also a wonderful journey that grandma is about making.  As much as I love having grandma here to share life with...it is with a deeper love that we must let her know she can go!  I know she feels this as Abby and I both saw a sense of peace come over her once we arrived and were comforting her. She, much different than grandpa, has been very peaceful on her journey.  Thus allowing us to be more joyful for her.  Plus we know that her 2 favorite people are waiting for her arrival!

WILW

Yes, it is WEDNESDAY again already.  Funny thing is that this Wednesday actually arrived with SUNSHINE and NO SNOW!  Although missing one (or more) days of school was nice...being back to our routine is wonderful too!

Here are my LOVES of the week:

❤❤ I am loving the tulips that Chris brought home to me on Sunday!  They have just begun to open up and look amazing! (Fun tulip fact...they are one of the only flowers that continue to grown once cut)

❤❤I am loving that I am finally back at the gym!  I love that I have returned to my old ways...SPIN CLASS!

❤❤I love that my sweet husband is fine with the fact that I DISLIKE VaLeNtInE's dAy.
I love that he is a wonderful husband and shows me frequently he loves me....rather than on ONE day of the year !
(Please don't hate me for my lack of V-Day love...I have always been this way.)
Unlike most couples we spent our V-Day at SPIN CLASS working our butts off!
looking good after working out at the gym...ha
❤❤I am loving my sweet ROOM MOM at school!  She worked so hard to make our
class Valentine's Day party wonderful.  She created these SUPER CUTE CARDS for the kids to take home to their parents.
(On the inside was a sweet poem!)
Please disregard that my hair is a mess...it was Friday!
Of course on the kiddos cards it had a picture of them!  HOW CUTE ARE THESE!!

❤❤Finally, as if I hadn't already mentioned it like 2 other times on this post alone....I am loving my sweet wonderful husband!  He makes me smile no matter what!!

B-E-A-U-tiful weekend!

Finally after 2 weeks of snow and ice we were granted a wonderful weekend.  Let's see...we began our weekend by attending one of Chris' friends going away party.  His friend has just accepted a job in Houston.  It was a blast getting to catch up with everyone...thus posing the question,  Why does it take someone leaving to get us all together?  Really we should do it more often (and for all the guys sake...on our side of town, ha)

Today I woke up and hit a few local stores.  One was having a blow out sale, which was fun!  I picked up a few things that I didn't really need...but were so cheap how could I pass them up.  Not only was it wonderful to enjoy the beautiful weather, but just nice to be out and about.  I am loving the warmer weather and I am loving the NON ICY STREETS!!

I am also really loving that my sweet husband completely understand that I DESPISE Valentine's Day! He knows that to me it is just a waste...and well I would rather him love me everyday; not just the day specified for it!  Therefore when I got home today on my counter were some very lovely tulips!  Often my counter holds a vase of beautiful tulips...just one of the many things he does to win my heart over.

Oh and one last thing before you all go out and enjoy your weekend, there are two fun blog giveaways going on!  The first one ends on MONDAY, head over to Musing Experiences   for your chance at a pari of TOMS!  Then you need to head over to Fierce, Fit, and Fabulous.  She is hosting a giveaway for a Coach bangle bracelet.  Stop in and check it out!   Enjoy your weekend and to you Valentine's Day LOVERS (gag) I hope yours is well, lovely!

Coors Light Super Bowl Party!!

Coors light knows how to host and event!
The party was more than anyone could have imagined.
Way to ROCK the HOUSE COORS LIGHT!!

Here is how our nigh went: Keep in mind we really didn't know what to expect when we got to Billy Bob's.  I mean we knew we would see a concert.  When we arrived we were welcomed by 3 cowboys at the main door.  Then once we entered, we were given some FREE DRINK coupons~~Great job Coors!    After that we headed down to the stage area.  Coors did an amazing job of making sure everyone there was having a nice time.  There were "party girls" (for lack of a better word) all over the place.  Some where taking pictures (like the one I used in the last post), others to give directions and such, and then some to dance around if you needed a partner.  The Coors bars were set up everywhere making it easy to find your next beer too!

The cowboys welcoming us at the door
infront of the stage...

Chris with some of the "show girls"
I found a good spot to stand, and well was there from 8 pm till 2 am!  I felt so bad for The Casey Donahue band!  They had a rough time making it to Billy Bobs last night from Alabama.  I have to give KUDOS to Coors again...for starting the concert off with a "hometown" band.  Just as they began to play Casey yelled out how nice it was to be home....it is nice to show support for your local bands too!

Every performer was AMAZING.  I really didn't expect to see the ROCK STAR concert that we got.  I mean I expected about 3-5 songs from all performers.  SO NOT THE CASE!!!  Each one sang on and on and on....

After Casey Donahue it was Uncle Kracker!  He is funny as all get out.  I loved hearing all his old songs as well as his new ones.  Chris was even pumped because he knew quite a few of the songs.  (Remember Chris is not a Country Music boy) He did such a great job of keeping the very RoUdY crowd going!  Like any good Honk'e Tonk there were a few "issues" but non that ruined OUR night....maybe some others, ha!

I think this pic is interesting...with his tattoo!
Finally the man I really was excited to see BLAKE SHELTON!!!  AMAZING, is all I can say really.  I mean there are not enough words to describe the show he put on.  He sang about 12 or more songs!  Not only did he sing all of my favorites, but he did some fun little "cover" songs too! He did such an outstanding job and told some pretty funny stories.  (get ready for tons of pics)

I love this pic...

Then he began my all time favorite song.... HOME!  While he was in the middle of the song, just before the duet part...out comes MIRANDA LAMBERT!  (His new fiance) She joined him to finishes the song...then continued to sing 4 more songs.

love this

Blake even gave her the stage for 2 of her own songs!  Wow, it was ROCK'N! I love how they sang together you could just SEE the LOVE!! A-M-A-Z-I-N-G sums up our night out at the Wonderful Coors Light Super Bowl party.

Here Blake is passing the stage over to Miranda
