Happy Heart Day!

For those of you who know me or have followed me you know that I DISLIKE this day for many reasons.  However, now that I have Miss H I have to enjoy some parts of it.  I believe that men should love you everyday and not just on this day.  Thus my hubby gets off easy on this day by not giving me a gift! LOL however, I expect things throughout the year so maybe he isn't getting off easy?  Regardless we now celebrate this day for Miss H.

My sweet friend Gracie (who I try to talk into doing pics professionally but wont) took these adorable pictures of Miss H in her Valentine outfit. I love them and she does such a great job catching my sweet girl's expressions.  I also love that we managed to make those lights become hearts! Gracie you are the best ever!!

This week we also worked hard on Daddy's Valentine's gift.  She loved every second of it.  Since she was doing such a great job we also made some for her grandparents too.  Thank you pintrest for your endless ideas and crafts.  I went with 2 rather easy ones.  We used an old toilet paper roll and bent it together to create a "heart" stamp.  She stamped hearts all over.  She even used it like a paint brush at one point (sorry to who ever got that picture!!)

Then to add a little extra touch I covered her sweet little hand in paint.  Then placed a paper heart in her palm. Once we pushed her hand down and raised up she had a hand print with a heart in the middle.  She loved that too! Thankfully I did that last for all the pictures because then she did a little finger painting! HA well if your already covered in paint why not!!

We really don't have big plans just hanging out and enjoying the day.  We probably wont go to dinner or anything either! I know this is as far as I can take my love for heart day…to a craft!  Hope you all have a wonderful day and that you get all the things you were hoping for!

Miss H is not in school so we don't really have a class to give out Valentine cards too.  However we do have yoga and music class.  Both have about 7 kiddos in them which makes it perfect for Miss H to pass out a little goodies!

Miss H and I were chatting about her choices for goodies and she picked gold fish crackers.  Of course a 2 year old would pick that.  But I was happy with her choice…way better than fruit snacks, aka candy if you ask H.  Again after searching good old pintrest we found a cute idea!  Here are Miss H's Valentine treat for her friends.  She loved passing them out today to her friends!  

Yes, its the teacher in me that loves to make these little goodies for her to share.  I am sure she will hate it when she is older so I have to take advantage now ;-)  What cute goodies did you make for your little ones to share? 

12 month old plus paint

equals a pretty big MESS!!  However, it was well worth it.  So for those of you who don't know know me...I shall explain myself.

I DISLIKE Valentine's day...yes you read that correctly!  I think it is just silly that a person should have to SHOW their love on a SPECIFIC day.  Instead I would like my hubby to show me all the time and any time.  You know just because he was thinking of me extra that day or so on.  Thus we DO NOT celebrate the heart day in this house.

Well that was until we brought a sweet little girl into the world.  I mean I still don't really celebrate the day but I don't want her to miss out on some of the fun I guess.  I mean right now it is pretty easy because she is small.  Instead of giving her a little gift for Valentine's day Miss H and I spent the day playing at the museum.  Then daddy came home and we had a family dinner together, which was nice because Chris has been super busy these past few weeks.

However, back to the mess....I did think I would have Miss H make Chris a little something for her 2nd Valentine's day.  Thank you pintrest...for all your billions of ideas.  I finally used one of my millions of pins.  She made him a little canvas with her sweet little fingers, toes, and much more.  Here is the mess:

 And let the fun begin...I had to kind of show her what to do being as it was her first art project.  But she picked up pretty quick.  Needless to say she was a hot mess.

Valentine's Love

This non Valentine lover has had to change her ways!  Yes, I never have enjoyed Valentine's day or the celebration of it...so kill me.  I think it is silly that on ONE day a year you have to show your love.  Instead I would rather the love be shown YEAR ROUND!

Okay, but now that I am a mommy I have to turn over a new leaf for Miss H's sake.  Being as she is only 4 weeks and 1 day old we went with a simple Valentine for Daddy today!  Oh and of course her brother had to be in on it too!

The funny thing is that once I was done taking her pictures for our photo op....Someone else in our house came in and took the photo spot.  He curled right up as if he was just asking for his turn so of course we had to do it...too bad he is black and so is my background.  It's the thought right?

Yes, it is WEDNESDAY again already.  Funny thing is that this Wednesday actually arrived with SUNSHINE and NO SNOW!  Although missing one (or more) days of school was nice...being back to our routine is wonderful too!

❤❤ I am loving the tulips that Chris brought home to me on Sunday!  They have just begun to open up and look amazing! (Fun tulip fact...they are one of the only flowers that continue to grown once cut)

❤❤I am loving that I am finally back at the gym!  I love that I have returned to my old ways...SPIN CLASS!

❤❤I love that my sweet husband is fine with the fact that I DISLIKE VaLeNtInE's dAy.

I love that he is a wonderful husband and shows me frequently he loves me....rather than on ONE day of the year ! 

(Please don't hate me for my lack of V-Day love...I have always been this way.)

❤❤Finally, as if I hadn't already mentioned it like 2 other times on this post alone....I am loving my sweet wonderful husband!  He makes me smile no matter what!!

B-E-A-U-tiful weekend!

Finally after 2 weeks of snow and ice we were granted a wonderful weekend.  Let's see...we began our weekend by attending one of Chris' friends going away party.  His friend has just accepted a job in Houston.  It was a blast getting to catch up with everyone...thus posing the question,  Why does it take someone leaving to get us all together?  Really we should do it more often (and for all the guys sake...on our side of town, ha)

Today I woke up and hit a few local stores.  One was having a blow out sale, which was fun!  I picked up a few things that I didn't really need...but were so cheap how could I pass them up.  Not only was it wonderful to enjoy the beautiful weather, but just nice to be out and about.  I am loving the warmer weather and I am loving the NON ICY STREETS!!

I am also really loving that my sweet husband completely understand that I DESPISE Valentine's Day! He knows that to me it is just a waste...and well I would rather him love me everyday; not just the day specified for it!  Therefore when I got home today on my counter were some very lovely tulips!  Often my counter holds a vase of beautiful tulips...just one of the many things he does to win my heart over.

What my Valentine weekend was.....

it began with happy hour as normal. We all headed to our same spot for Friday night. Not everyone came, because it was Valentine weekend, but those of who were there had a great time. My friend Carrie (my doubles partner) even showed up for the good times. Here are some pics.

From there the weekend moved right into tennis. Carrie and I played doubles in the annual Jack Frost tournament. The funny thing about this tournament is the name...you laugh that it is called Jack Frost. However, no matter how nice the weekend prior or after is the weekend it falls on is always FREEZING....Well 2 years ago I think it was the coldest we have played in. This year it seemed to stay true....I believe it was about 38 yesterday when we walked on court. Then today it was a tad warmer at 45, but nothing like last weekends high 60's almost 70's. Well Carrie and I play a blah first match, moved into consolation. We lost today in the semi-finals, however play a very nice match. All in all we had semi good weather (for this tournament) and some great tennis. Next step, we begin our spring season matches. I love my 4.0 ladies tennis team we have such a great time. Yes, I am sure you are wondering where the Valentine part was in this weekend. Well after yesterday's match Chris and I enjoyed a normal Saturday. We went to Target (my most favorite place ever) checked out the sale area and grabbed a few things. The best part is we went to the NEW target that has the NEW CARTS!!! I know who would have guessed I would purposely go to a REGULAR TARGET, but if we don't need food I normal ask that we go there. The carts are so nice and they ride smooth....and it is a little less busy than the Super Target. We then rented a movie from Redbox (love the Redbox), grabbed some dinner, and went home to our baby. It was just like any Saturday, nothing special. Oh except Chris broke my Valentine rules and he and Winston gave me a card. Still it broke my non Valentine rule! He is such a mess.
