Cinco de Mayo, EC Style!

Happy (a couple of post late) Cinco de Mayo to all!!!

After an amazing T-ball game we took all the kiddos home. Abby had heard that the Firehouse (a restaurant in town) was having a great Cinco de Mayo special. If they still lived in the big city (Fort Worth) we would have enjoyed it at Pappasitos! Instead we were settling for Firehouse and their fajitas for two. A few of their friends were even joining us for the grand event.

As we pull up to Firehouse we see it is rather busy. Abby was sent in to see how long the wait was, come to find out NO WAIT! Off all 8 of us go to enjoy the Cinco de Mayo dinner.

Background info needed: E C is not a place where you go out to eat out in a hurry. No
matter which restaurant you go to the service in some way will be lacking. I
think Los Coocos is the only good service I personally have had! Normally it is
a long wait for the food....or a long wait for the check after the food. Note to
self, never expect amazing service when eating out in E C!

They sat us right down and began the drink orders! Margaritas for a $1, bring us a round! About 10 minutes after our drinks we finally got to order. Abby, Brian, and I were sharing the fajitas (it goes with Cinco de Mayo tradition) the rest got burgers! This is where things begin to turn BAD!!!! They forgot to bring one little guy his drink, because they were out of cherries....So I guess in their mind that meant he didn't want a drink! Not "Hey we are out of cherries, will just sprite work?" Then finally they came and asked if we need more drinks....yes all were gone! After 30 minutes of waiting we began to see many angry faces. One was a local cop, he had been there over an hour and still had no food. Now it was time for him to get back to work! Would hate to have been stopped by that angry, hungry cop!

Throughout this time we had this sweet high school waiter, plus some random ladies helping out with our DRINKS! About 45 minutes later I believe Brian asked how long til our food. That is when we found out that all was ready but the fajitas. Again "Hey we can't serve the food because it not all done!" So instead they were letting it get cold, how smart!! We said NO BRING WHAT IS DONE OUT!!! Well everyone but Abby, Brian, and I's was ready to go. Then they said they ran out of tortillas so they ran to the store (this place is about 1/2 block from the store). FINALLY about 1 hour and 25 minutes into it our sweet high school waitress comes to the table. Only she looks like she has been crying!
THE TRUTH IS FINALLY OUT: "I am sorry we are out of fajitas...I will comp all your drinks!" WHAT THE HECK!!!!

Happy faces...as we arrived!
They went all out on the decorations too!

As we find out there are no more fajitas!

How we ended the night....no food!
Yes, instead of a manager or one of the older ladies, they send the sweet high school girl out to tell us! Then they waited till after 1 hour and 25 minutes, when probably 30 minutes into our stay they realized this. She said they would make us something else if we wanted.....HECK if you would of asked sooner we could have eaten with our friends! Brian had them make us all TO GO burgers! NO HAPPY CINO DE MAYO TO US, thanks to FIREHOUSE!

How awful! Who runs out of fajits (and the special none the less) on Cinco de Mayo? What a mess! Abby, that might be your best "sad face", but it made me laugh! :)
