Easter

This year Easter was different in many ways. The first was that we had everyone home, plus Chris. The second was that B was big enough to "hunt" eggs. The most obvious reason was that both my grandparents are no longer at home. Therefore on Friday we all decided that the best place for us to celebrate Easter was at Childers Place (my grandparents nursing home). We spoke to the nurses and reserved the kitchenette area.

Mom spent most of Saturday evening and Sunday morning making all the delicious foods. She cooked an amazing brisket. We needed to make most items at home, then just take them there to reheat. Sunday morning Chris and I joined dad at the bowling alley for breakfast. You see dad golfs EVERY Sunday morning; so he and the boys meet up there prior. Since Chris was joining in on the golf we went too. After the guys left to golf I headed home to help mom. Cooking with little B can be a little hard.

Once everyone was home we loaded up the 2 cars full of our wonderful lunch. Dad, mom, Chris, and I all unloaded the goodies to the kitchenette when we arrived. We got the oven all set and started warming things up. Abby helped gather grandma and grandpa up and out to the dinning area. The most wonderful thing about this was that we were all there together. You know it doesn't matter really where you do it at as long as everyone is there. We all gathered up and sat for a very wonderful meal. We had brisket, beans, potato salad, bread, coleslaw, and cheese cake.

The whole family.

Don't they make cute bunnies?

Everyone gathered around enjoying the meal.

Shortly after the meal Little Bear noticed there were EGGS out in the court yard area. We took her, Little B, and grandpa all out to hunt the eggs. It was a little chilly but the kiddos did a great job. B loved to pick them up and open them....he really just wanted the goodies inside.

What a cutie.

Sadly Chris and I had to leave shortly after the hunt. We had an amazing Easter. The weekend in Amarillo turned out to be the first of many new things.

I sent Abby a text last night with this info because I was afraid I would forget to tell you, so this may be double notification, but I was at Walgreens sifting through their 75%off Easter stuff and they had several of your favorite egg decorating kits left and super cheap.
